Continuing to compete in preparation for this year’s World Master tournament, which will be in early September, coach Roffers competed in Las Vegas at the IBJJF American Nationals tournament.

The heavyweight final was a very close battle with an opponent that coach Roffers has gone back and forth with quite a few times now. He was able to complete a sweep for two points with around one minute remaining, giving him the only scoring action of the match.

He then moved on to the open division, which consisted on five competitors.

He won the semi-final by one advantage for a close submission attempt.

After this win he faced his heavyweight opponent from earlier in the day for the open division final.

His opponent received an advantage point for almost passing coach’s guard. This was the only scoring event of the match.

Again, coach Roffers had a back and forth pair of matches with the open champion. Good preparation for Master Worlds.
