Silverback BJJ Takes Bronze & Silver at IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Silverback Jiu-Jitsu’s founder and head coach competed at the 2025 IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Kissimmee, Florida. The tournament draws the top Jiu-Jitsu competitors from around the world.

Scott finished his first match with a Kimura submission.

The semi-final match was against an opponent from Holland. Scott lost the match on points, and ended up with 3rd place.

Scott signed up for the Master 6 Black Belt Open Division along with 11 other competitors.

The qualifying round went well as Scott executed a late match sweep to mount to go ahead 6-0. The quarter-final opponent had a first round bye and never showed up. On to the semi-final…

After going ahead 2-0 with a takedown, Scott stayed in control as the match progressed and was able to secure the win!

The open championship match was against a well known competitor, Wellington Leal Dias (Megaton). This was Scott’s first time getting to face this seasoned competitor.

With about two minutes remaining Scott had to tap to a Bow-n-Arrow submission. He considered it an honor to be able to fight professor Dias. So the day ended with second place in the Open Division.
